Here’s how much I made my first month in the Medium Partner Program

Writing on Medium, like any other social media, can be something of a mixed bag, especially when it comes to payment. When I was first invited to the Medium Partner Program, I looked online for some estimates on payment and they all varied wildly, so to that end I’m here to add my voice to the noise with another data point.

I have a full-time job as the creative director of a design firm, so I don’t necessarily need to rely on writing to pay the bills. For me, it’s something I enjoy doing, and if I make enough for a meal at Qdoba while doing it, then I’m happy. On average, I write about 1 article a week, although the last couple weeks I haven’t. I currently have 900 followers on Medium, and about 25 email subscribers (thank you!).
