I've been noticing a pattern within tech of the celebrity CEO, where CEOs are seen as visionaries and adventurous leaders with crystal-clear direction instead of high level office workers. While some CEOs do have strong vision, generally successful companies are a result of thousands of people with excellent ideas working together to trim the fat.

Overly leadership-centric companies can succeed brilliantly, in the case of Apple and Steve Jobs, or fail miserably, in the way Facebook with Zuckerberg at the helm is currently experiencing.

I think that as this trend continues, UX will suffer since CEOs will be more likely to shape their companies products to their own liking, not necessarily for the benefit of the consumer.
